Dean's Message
The
purpose of this web site is to present the principle teaching
concepts and curriculum of the Masters in Business Administration
(MBA) Program at the Haifa University.
The program is based on a few fundamental goals that guide all
school activities.
The primary and most important goal is quality learning.
Since the school’s foundation in September 1997, the concept of
quality has been a milestone in our selection of the content, the
students, and, of course, the teaching staff.
The program content is based on the experience and knowledge
accumulated at leading Business Administration schools worldwide,
and has been adapted to the unique needs of organizations in Israel,
using knowledge from the various programs at the Haifa University as
leverage.
In selecting our students, we emphasize maturity and managerial
experience, combined with academic ability and team work. The school
staff, and graduates from all class years, are personally involved
in the selection of program candidates.
All academic staff members are highly accredited. Their academic
reputation is comparable to that of senior staff members at the
leading universities worldwide.
Our Second Goal, Maintaining Innovation
An up-to-date curriculum, adapted according to the latest research
findings and the reality of a changing environment, is one of the
fundamental teaching concepts at the school. The members of the
staff perform academic research in their field, provide consultation
to private and public corporations, and many of the staff members
receive invitations to teach at excellent schools abroad – enabling
them to keep in close contact with research developments and the
business world.
Our Third Goal, Learning through Interaction
We believe that learning is multidirectional. Students learn not
only from the knowledge passed on to them from a member of the
staff, but also, to no lesser degree, from their experience and the
experiences of their classmates. Therefore, we emphasize the
selection of experienced candidates, representing a wide variety of
occupations and organizations. The program’s students are men and
women, managers of basic industries, high-tech industries, and
service-providing organizations. Our students’ heterogeneous
background represents intellectual wealth and diversity, providing
an opportunity for mutual learning, and a challenge for both student
and teacher. Our student body includes a variety of professions -
engineers, lawyers, doctors, senior military officers; and academic
degrees - social sciences, natural sciences, the humanities and
computer sciences.
The program encourages students to work as a team when preparing
projects and tasks. These assignments, in addition to the courses
themselves, allow students to contribute from their own personal
experience and enjoy the personal and professional experience of
their partners and classmates.
Our Fourth Goal, Learning is Fun
The members of the academic and administrative staff are equal
partners in the school’s vision to make learning an enjoyable
experience for all sides, while emphasizing excellence in teaching,
excellence in research and quality service for our students. To
achieve this goal, we have established an open-door policy. The
program’s students are welcome to meet with the staff members at any
time, exchange ideas, learn from their experience and consult with
them on any subject. The school has provided the students with an
efficient, considerate and open administrative team, aimed at
providing any possible assistance. We consider the students to be
our partners, joining us in the future as part of the expansive
community of the Haifa University’s Business Administration School.
For those of you who will be joining us, I personally guarantee that
the learning experience in this program will be challenging,
interesting and exciting, and that the entire experience will be
invaluable.
